I am under doctor's orders to avoid salt, which can make eating out tough. Visiting Ecuador in August, I ended up asking other diners to taste everything for any overwhelming amounts of salt. Luckily restaurants there seemed to avoid salt, save for a favorite of mine, ceviche. Then I was able to enjoy preparing a few home made meals with the family.
