Meeting Fulvio Marino

It’s always one of my dreams to enjoy real world meetings with people whom we have interviewed on our blog. Last week surfing Instagram, I noticed that bread baker Fulvio Marino was visiting New York City. Among his reasons for visiting NYC was to give demonstrations around making bread dough’s at Eataly’s Liberty Street store, Messaging him, I arranged to join him at Eataly’s downtown location, which sits within the architectural maze of the rebuilt World Trade Tower neighborhood.

The store is sleek and well-lit with sky high windows between food stalls. There’s a designated “bread laboratory,” feature crews of people engaged in training. Here are some photos from that morning. By the way, check out his online show E’ sempre mezzogiorno, where he does a daily sharing of bread recipes. Below are some pictures I took with one of my heroes.
