Crisp, Sour, Sweet… A Tart

by | May 26, 2012 | Tarts and pies, Uncategorized

I had some phyllo and almond paste, as well as rhubarb and strawberries. What is simpler and easier to make than a tart? Not much. I'd add some sugar and butter and maybe strawberries, because they engage with rhubarb. No fuss, no hassle.

Take a few buttered layers of phyllo, whipped almond paste, butter, sugar and an egg. Spread over the phyllo, mix in chopped fruit, and bake…. You have a crisp, sour, sweet and simple tart. Ice cream optional, but it doesn't hurt.
